H. Pylori is a bacteria, which can be found on the stomach mucosa of most people. Although its very common (nearly 1/3 of the population has it), only 15-20% will present with symptoms.
Sometimes infections can be silent, but they can also cause produce gastritis, gastric ulcers and other serious pathologies.
This non-invasive test directly measures the antigen in stool (not antibodies) and is used for diagnosing Helicobacter pylori infections. It is also used for monitoring therapeutic efficacy during and after treatment.
